Empowering Women To Further The Water Cause - April 2015
In the framework of the Foundation’s ongoing program to raise awareness on water issues, the Foundation organized a workshop entitled “Women Empowerment for Water Conversation”. This workshop brought together the appointed trainers, who are part of the Union of Bint-Jbeil Municipalities, South of Lebanon, with the aim of raising awareness on water issues and ultimately develop initiatives to spread the reach of the topic of water resources and sustainable development across each participants “field of expertise”.
The workshop brought together female environmental activists in the region and representatives for the Red Cross in the South of Lebanon. This event was carried out in collaboration with the Civil Affairs department, at the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
NATIONAL COMMITTEE - WATER POLLUTION
The Foundation was nominated to be member in the National Committee for the Litani River pollution, established by the Lebanese Prime Minister.
The main objective of this Committee is to coordinate with concerned stakeholders to implement the road map and action plans for the Litani River pollution.
